THE TAIRAWHITI MUSEUM TRIP!!!!!!!!

Last week on Thursday the 21st me and my class went to the Tairawhiti Museum and went on the education class because last time we went to the museum with another class we just went to look around. The lady's name that is standing in the corner by the wall is Aunty Ora or you can just call her Ora or Aunty. We also went on a scavenger hunt for art around the museum and my two friends Chloe and Zoe both walked past one of the things that we needed to find twice... After the scavenger hunt we went to 2 or 3 different rooms and got some inspirations for the sponge art we were making.

I found it easy to just walk around the room and find all of the things that we had to find for the scavenger hunt and write them down on the piece of paper that Aunty Ora gave us. I also found it easy to try not be too loud in the museum as Aunty Ora said. Another thing I found easy was doing the last step of the sponge art I was doing witch was painting over the bird I made with a long toothpick and then put it on a piece of colourful paper.

I found it hard to pronounce some of the things that we found in maori. I also found it hard to follow Aunty Ora to different rooms without getting pushed around or lost because we weren't in a line when we were going to different rooms like we would normally do. The last thing I found hard was tracing around  the bird stencil I chose.

Next time when I go to the museum I might try find Aunty Ora and say hello! 😊😊

The winter mess.

We were learning to write about the winter weather and we got to chose our topic rain, snow or wind. I chose the snow because I really like the snow and I thought it would be easier to write about. We were also learning to paint a picture for our readers.

I found it easy to write about the snow and think of a title. I also found it easy to think of what my sentence beginnings were going to be.

I found it hard to find a good snowman background because most of them were made out of wool. I also found it hard to find a font for my writing and the colour of my writing.

Next time I need to try to look for a background faster.

Koru writing

We were learning to find a background and describe what the koru is. we had to do it by ourselves and I got back into class late so I didn't really know what to do. Before we started to write and describe the koru we got a sheet of paper and had to write what we noticed.

I found it easy to find a good background and write about the koru. I also found it easy to write down what I noticed on the piece of paper we got.

I found it hard to think of different ideas to describe the koru. I also found it hard to find the right colour that would stand out so that people can see my writing.

Next time I need to get back to class on time so that I know what I do.

Quality blog comment!

We are learning to recognize a quality blog comment and give reasons for our thinking. Our learning assets were Mahi tahi and Whai Whakaaro  I had to work with a buddy for this learning and I chose my friend Ekam to be my buddy for this activity.

I found it easy to copy the hands and move them to where they needed to go. I also found it easy to read the comments/ listen to them.

I found it hard to think of why I thought it was a good comment or a bad comment. I also found it hard to think of how to respond to my buddy.

Next time me and my buddy need to work a bit faster to finish saying why we think it was a good or bad comment.

Road Safety

We were learning to create media by making a road safety advertisement for road safety week.  I also was learning to use mahi tahi by learning to work nicely with others in my group.

Copyright Challenge

Human Caterpillar

We were learning to make a human caterpillar with our group. The number of how many people were allowed in a group was 4 groups of 5 and 3 groups of 4. Me and my friends were in a group of three as you can see. Most people were in a group of 5 and a little were in a group of 4.

I found it easy to put the newspaper into layers of 3 so that when we stand on it it will be thick. I also found it easy to watch my friends do most of the work. Another thing that I found it easy to do is taping the newspaper together.

I found it hard to place the newspaper on top of eachother and I also found it hard to connect the newspaper together.

pic.collage!

we were learning to take photos about us going around our school and taking photos of 5 different things on our piece of paper that includes REACH. On our piece of paper we got one section to do and the ones we did were I will use manners anywhere, I will move around respectfully, I will care for my own, other Mangapapa kids, and the schools belongings, I will respect other people and I will keep my hands and feet to myself.

I found it easy to take the photos of my group with an ipad and to make the pic.collage. I also found it easy to find a group of 4 because me and my friends are a group of 4 including me. Another thing I found easy to do is watch my friends do the poses for the photos.

I found it hard to make up the poses for me and my group because we had to many ideas flying at us. I also found it hard to not play on the playground when we were taking our photo by the playground. I found it hard to take the last 2 photos because my group did not like the first few photos.

I really enjoyed making the pic collage and being in a group with my friends. I also found it enjoyed watching my friends taking photos and being in them.

Next time I need to ask to take some of the photos and stop laughing in the photos.

Reflecting on writing

For our writing we have been writing Narratives. We have been learning to add a great hook in or opening line to our writing and to start our sentences in different ways.

This week we also had to have a smile and alliteration in our writing. This slide shows my hook in, sentence beginnings, simile and alliteration.

We are using our Kaiwhakarite/Self Manager learning asset by reflecting on our learning.

Korowai art!

We were learning about collaboration and working with each other. We were also trying to earn hearts (points) and the group with the most points gets a prize. You were only allowed 4 people in your group. It was kinda easy to make a group of 4 with my friends because we are a group of 4.

I found it easy to choose the 1 of the 4 colors from our group. I chose green but then my friend wanted to swap colors because she didn't want to have yellow. I also found it easy to draw a pattern on all of the feathers. I also found it easy to dye the feathers too.

I found it hard to fold my piece of paper into long rectangles.

Bio-poem

We were learning about how to make a Bio-poem. First we had to write about what we feel sometimes and then we had to write our moum and dad's name and our sibling's names. I have more than one sibling but I do not know how to spell their names.

I found it easy to write what I love, do my photo, remove my background and say what I am afraid of. I also found it easy to change the shape that my photo is in instead.
